To simplify and save their great time one of our clients needs some modification in their NetSuite platform. They want to implement the features to create a Lead in NetSuite when a ‘Quote’, ‘Contact Us’ and other forms are submitted from their Website. 

Our developers made it feasible with an email plugin script.

INTRODUCTION

Our client required a methodology to create a lead record in NetSuite when a form is submitted from the website. To fulfill this requirement, our developers use the email plug-in implementation feature.  

HOW TO IMPLEMENT EMAIL-PLUGIN 

 The Email Plug-in looks like a traditional NetSuite Script Definition and a different method for Script Deployment.

  1. Scripts are referenced via Customization → Plug-Ins→ Plug-In Implementations → New

2. The deployment is handled under Customization → Plug-ins → Manage Plug-ins.

 Check the box to the name of your definition and use the provided email address to listen to requests to fire your script.

We are using the Email Capture Plug-in to define NetSuite behavior based on the properties and contents of an inbound email message. When NetSuite receives an email sent to the email address associated with an implementation of the plug-in, NetSuite executes the logic defined in the implementation or email plug-in script.


A function that accepts the email is mandatory in the email capture plug-in implementation and is called automatically by NetSuite when an email is sent to the email address associated with the plug-in implementation. After that, we add the appropriate code in the email plug-in script to create the lead record using the required information.
